OUR ELECTROCONVULSIVE THERAPY (ECT) UNIT
Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) has been applied in our clinic for many years. Our clinic is one of the few clinics in our region that applies ECT treatment. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, ECT with anesthesia is applied to our inpatients and outpatients. Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatment is also applied in our polyclinic. Our clinic is one of the few clinics in our country that has both an ECT and TMS unit.

OUR TRANSCRANIAL MAGNETIC STIMULATION (TMS) TREATMENT UNIT
TMS treatment has been applied in our clinic since 2018. TMS is a new medical treatment method used in psychiatry. In TMS, an electromagnetic coil is placed on the scalp and treatment is applied with magnetic waves. It does not need to be applied under anesthesia.

OUR IN-PATIENT SERVICES
Our psychiatric inpatient service has a capacity of 29 patients. Each room accommodates 2 patients. One of our rooms is designed as a quiet room. Our inpatient service, which includes a treatment unit, exercise room, therapy units, dining hall, cinema and social areas, provides both treatment and rehabilitation services to our inpatients. There is a separate garden and sports area reserved for our inpatients in the L block. Good morning meetings and group therapies are held regularly in our clinic.

PSYCHIATRY DAYTIME REHABILITATION HOSPITAL (GÜNDÜZ HASTANESİ)
Since 2007, treatment and rehabilitation services have been provided to patients diagnosed with Schizophrenia/Psychotic Disorders at Akdeniz University Psychiatry Daytime Rehabilitation Hospital. Our expert instructors offer our patients many rehabilitation services such as wood painting, jewelry design, sports, painting, cooking, agriculture, music and computer courses. In this way, our patients maintain their functionality and acquire a profession. Our physicians provide daily outpatient clinic services to these patients and group therapy is applied to the patients on certain days of the week. With the slogan of “From soil to society”, Akdeniz University Psychiatry Daytime Rehabilitation Hospital has a Day Hospital Greenhouse, where our patients produce their own vegetables and fruits such as tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, eggplants and strawberries and cook their meals. In this way, the integration of patients into society is ensured.

ALCOHOL AND SUBSTANCE ADDICTION RESEARCH AND TREATMENT CENTER (AMBAUM) SERVICES
Akdeniz University Alcohol and Substance Addiction Research and Treatment Center (AMBAUM) has been providing outpatient and inpatient treatment services since 2006 under the Akdeniz University Presidency. There are 2 polyclinics in the Alcohol and Substance Addiction Research and Treatment Center that provide service every day of the week. Our polyclinic has 1 toxicology room where urine samples are taken and 1 blood collection unit. Our unit has an inpatient service with a capacity of 20 patients (6 detox unit beds, 14 rehabilitation unit beds). There are two separate units in the inpatient service: detoxification and rehabilitation. Our academic staff working at Akdeniz University, Department of Psychiatry also serves at AMBAUM. Our AMBAUM Clinic is a training clinic and specialization training is provided to specialist pysicians. There are 3 general practitioners, 1 psychologist, 9 nurses, 2 secretaries, 6 personnel, 2 sports instructors, 1 occupational and therapy instructor in our AMBAUM clinic. There is 1 meeting room and 1 therapy/occupational unit in our AMBAUM clinic. Group therapy, individual psychotherapy and SAMBA (Smoking, Alcohol and Substance Addiction Treatment Program) trainings are provided in our clinic. There is a separate garden and sports area for our inpatients within the AMBAUM campus.

OUR TRAINING ACTIVITIES
Our clinic aims to provide educational activities at the highest standards as a clinic that trains specialist students. Seminar, article and case hours are held in our clinic every Wednesday between 8:30-11:00 and all faculty members and specialist students participate. Forensic psychiatry boards are held every Wednesday between 11:00-12:00 and all faculty members and specialist students participate. Specialist students are encouraged to produce at least 1 scientific article during the training period. Faculty members provide structured theoretical education and supervision to specialist students in the psychotherapy school they are trained in. Each specialist student is encouraged to follow up patients for a long time during the training period. Article club activities are carried out in our clinic. Each specialist student is given an issue of a respected scientific journal in the field and every month 2 specialist students share the latest scientific developments with all faculty members and specialist students. Psychiatric interview supervision is carried out by faculty members in a mirrored room for specialist students at regular intervals. Wednesday Seminars, training program according to seniority, psychotherapy training, psychiatric interview supervision, article club are implemented every year as minimum training activities. In addition, additional training programs are created according to the needs and demands of specialist students during the training period.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT PROGRAMS
Our staff working in our clinic organizes seminars and courses to strengthen preventive health services for the community in cooperation with various public institutions and non-governmental organizations.
