Our center, which provides comprehensive services in radioisotope imaging and treatment, is a reference hospital for the Mediterranean Region and other neighboring European Union, Russian Federation and Middle East countries. Our department is equipped with two positron emission tomography (PET)/CT, two single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), DEXA for bone density measurement and ultrasonography. There are 4 clinically experienced and certificated Nuclear Medicine specialists and highly trained technicians.
Radioactive Iodine Therapy
This treatment is the oral administration of radioactive iodine (iodine-131) for the treatment of thyrotoxicosis (e.g. Graves' disease, toxic multinodular goiter or toxic adenoma) and differentiated thyroid carcinomas.
Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy (PRRT)
This treatment is a molecularly targeted treatment for inoperable or metastatic neuroendocrine tumors. This treatment can also be used for other tumors with high somatostatin receptor expression. Treatment is achieved by intravenous administration of a radioactive somatostatin analog (e.g., Lutetium-177 or Yttrium-90 labeled radiopeptide)
Lutetium-177-PSMA Therapy
This treatment is a molecularly targeted treatment preferred for patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. This therapy is a personalised treatment that aims to relieve symptoms and potentially slow the growth and spread of a person’s prostate cancer. The treatment is achieved by intravenous administration of radioactive PSMA ligand.
Selective Internal Radiotherapy (SIRT)
This treatment is a form of local radiation therapy for liver tumors or metastases that cannot be removed by surgical methods. The procedure is performed with interventional radiologists by injecting microspheres labeled with radioactive Yttrium-90 into the vessels feeding the tumors.
Radiosynovectomy
This treatment is a radionuclide therapy used to treat chronic joint synovitis or synovial processes. The most common indications are chronic inflammatory arthritis, such as rheumatoid arthritis and hemophilic synovitis. The treatment is performed by injecting Yttrium-90, Rhenium-186 and Erbium-169 into the joint space in colloidal form.
Iodine-131 MIBG Treatment
This treatment is a systematically applied radiotherapy for the treatment of inoperable metastatic neuroectodermal tumors such as pheochromocytoma, paraganglioma, neuroblastoma, medullary thyroid cancer and carcinoid tumors.
Palliative Treatment of Bone Pain
Intravenous radiopharmaceuticals (e.g. strontium-89 chloride, samarium-153, rhenium-188) are used to relieve pain from bone metastases.

Positron Emission Tomography (PET)
A sophisticated imaging technique for oncology, cardiology and neurology. Modern fusion PET/CT scanners provide functional information with anatomical correlation.
- Fluorine-18 FDG for myocardial viability assessment, dementia, refractory epilepsy, tumor and infection imaging.
- Gallium-68 PSMA for prostate cancer.
- Gallium-68 DOTA for neuroendocrine and other somatostatin receptor positive tumors.
Scintigraphic Examinations
- Bone scintigraphy for evaluation of bone metastases and other skeletal anomalies.
- Brain perfusion imaging for cerebrovascular insufficiency, epilepsy and brain death.
- Gastrointestinal studies (radionuclide labeled erythrocyte scintigraphy, Meckel diverticulum scan, bleeding scintigraphy, gastric emptying study etc.)
- Iodine-131 MIBG imaging for neuroendocrine tumors.
