- History: Department of Social Pediatrics had been established as “well child follow up out patient clinic” in the year 2001. In 2011 it had been certified by the Council of Higher Education as the Department of Social Pediatrics.
About us: Department of social pediatrics provides services to protect and improve the physical, mental, psychological and social health of the children. We help to identify the factors that pose a risk to the child’s health and provide anticipatory guidance to families to minimize risks and improve the health of the child.
In this context we carry out well child care visits (child check ups) for children between the ages of 0 to 18 years. According to the findings in the history or physical examination of the child laboratory tests can be ordered or consultations with other departments can be performed, if necessary. Periodicity of the visits are determined according to the age and condition of the child. Anticipatory guidance is also offered to the families during those visits.
We work as a team of two faculty member pediatric specialists, one resident and two nurses
